Burnt topics in operating systems

Abstract: Research necessarily involves success and failure, but we rarely hear about ideas that didn't work out. This panel will showcase examples of such ideas, led by those who pursued them and saw them fail. The hope is for the community to reflect on formerly "hot" research ideas and why seemingly good ideas sometimes don't work out. An activity during the panel will engage community members to share their own hard lessons learned.
