Abstract: Highlights•We propose a shared parameter network (SPN) for fault detection.•The SPN performance is compared to our previously proposed PBRN model.•SPN achieves a 76% reduction in model size and half the training time of the PBRN.•The new model retains performance levels for fault detection like the PBRN.
