Abstract: Highlights•A MILP formulation for makespan minimization is presented.•Effects of task assignment on makespan, reliability, and temperature are analyzed.•A two-stage scheme is proposed to determine the assignment and schedule of tasks.•Synthetic and real-world tasks are both utilized in the simulations.•The efficacy of the MILP formulation and two-stage scheme are both validated.
