A MILP model to improve the robustness of a railway timetable by retiming and rerouting in a complex bottleneck area
Abstract: Highlights•We propose a MILP model to improve the robustness of an existing railway timetable.•The timetable is considered in microscopic detail.•Our objective aims at finding a good spreading in time of the trains.•The model is flexible to use in practice.•The model is successfully tested on a complex bottleneck area of the Belgian network.
