IoT-Book: A System for the Internet of Things to Implement the Intelligent Interaction

Abstract:

Intelligence and personalization are two chief development trends of the Internet of Things (IoT). However,
the IoT devices usually lack the abilities to make decisions
under the condition of unmanned participant, and the present
IoT systems not fully considers users’ personalized needs. To
address this concern, we present a three-layer system named
IoT-Book to implement the intelligent interactions among IoT
devices. IoT-Book can analyze a user’s personalized behavior
by machine learning technology, and achieve the intelligent
control of heterogenous devices based on the semantic knowledge
provided by the ontology and rules. A smart home use case is used
to demonstrate that IoT-Book can support intelligent interactions
among the IoT devices effectively.
