Neural Fields for Multimedia Applications (Part-1): Trends in Audio, Images and Videos

Abstract: In this survey paper, we provide a comprehensive overview of Neural Fields, with respect to their applications towards multimedia. We specifically focus on audio, images, video, and joint audio-video applications in this first part, and on volumetric videos and 3D objects in the second part. While highlighting several key works that have contributed to each application area in a significant manner, we also discuss the emerging trends, and the speculations on the future of the field.
