Integration and Experiment of Double Robot Drilling and Riveting System with Barrel Structure

Abstract: The connection quality of aircraft structural parts greatly affects the accuracy and life of aircraft aerodynamic shape, the assembly of fuselage barrel structure parts for high performance aircraft has become a weak link in China’s aircraft manufacturing industry. Riveting is the main form of connection, and using robot drilling, riveting technology and system is an effective technical way to improve the assembly quality of aircraft. Based on the research background of robot automatic machining and assembly of large aircraft fuselage barrel structure parts, this paper constructs a set of drilling and riveting system integrated with double robot slide platform for the assembly of fuselage barrel structure parts. Through the actual test, it is verified that the system can complete most of the drilling and riveting work, and its effect can meet the requirements of actual aircraft production. It shows the potential of robot in aircraft assembly, and provides a reference scheme for the expansion of robot application field and the construction of robot machining system in the future.
