Abstract:

Untruthful announcement is a significant part of multi-agent communications. Providing a formal account of such announcements is important for representing and reasoning about effects of actions and epistemic planning in multi-agent domains.
This paper attacks the problem of dealing with lying and misleading announcements by defining update models for them.
It also shows that these update models yield intuitive results when applying on a pointed Kripke structure for reasoning about the beliefs of agents.
