Abstract: The level of congestion on each road in the traffic network (TN) varies under different times, and the same road requires different travel times under different levels of congestion. The actual distance of the road is no longer the only criterion for electric vehicle (EV) traveling path planning. In this paper, an EV traveling path planning method considering road congestion is proposed. Firstly, a road equivalent length model based on the speed-traffic model is established to describe the equivalent traveling distance of roads considering road congestion. Secondly, a TN equivalent model based on the road adjacency matrix and equivalent length is established to describe the connectivity of the TN and the equivalent distance of the roads. Thirdly, an EV traveling path planning method based on the Dijkstra algorithm and the TN equivalent model is proposed. Finally, the validity of the method is verified by the 27-Bus TN system.
