Nitrogen Dioxide Detection by the Utilization of MoO3-based Gas Sensing Layer and Eight-port Reflectometer in the Microwave Frequency Range
Abstract: Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) is one of the widely detected gases in various applications including the detection of environmental pollution where NO2 is one of the major components, as well as, in industrial, medical, and occupational safety measurements. Nitrogen dioxide is also widely used to develop the complete reaction mechanism of the metal-oxide-based gas-sensitive layer due to its simplicity, which is based on the adsorption models. In this paper, the MoO3-based gas sensor that operates in the microwave frequency range was developed. The enhanced detection was observed due to the utilization of the eight-port reflectometer measurement method.
