Mutated Aquila Optimizer for assisting brain tumor segmentation

Abstract: Highlights•This work proposed an MAO-Kmeans approach for the segmentation of brain tumors.•MAO is the AO variant embedded with Cauchy mutation and truncation selection schemes.•The initial performance of the MAO is tested and verified on CEC’21 benchmarks.•MAO-Kmeans approach is tested for brain tumor segmentation on BraTS 2020 dataset.•Quantitative and qualitative analysis shows the superiority of the MAO-Kmeans method.
