Abstract: In recent years finger vein authentication has gained an increasing attention, since it has shown the potential of providing high accuracy as well as robustness to spoofing attacks. In this paper we presented a new finger verification approach, which does not need precise segmentation of regions of interest (ROIs), as it exploits a co-registration process between two vessel structures. We tested the verification performance on the MMCBNU_6000 finger vein dataset, showing that this approach outperforms state of the art techniques in terms of Equal Error Rate.
