Abstract: Highlights•A new implicit–explicit scheme is proposed to discretize the evolutionary stable distribution model.•Theoretically, it is proved that the proposed scheme satisfies the property of the entropy dissipation.•Numerical experiments are carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
