Abstract: Since the emergence of digitization and its immersion in the modus-operandi of individuals, communities and institutions, society has undergone important transformations. Recently, due to the exponential nature of technological change, these transformations have accelerated significantly, creating interest and at the same time concern regarding the socio-technical and socio-environmental implications of this great metamorphosis. One of the most relevant concerns is related to the effects of Artificial Intelligence and related branches in the Future of Work and Work of the Future. The objective of this contribution is on the one hand, to identify the most significant implications, and on the other to explore strategies that can support society in general to adopt, in a balanced way, the applications that Artificial Intelligence offer. Regulation, ethical and moral development programs as well as education programs such as reskilling and upskilling, become fundamental factors in order to cope with the risks and undesirable effects of Artificial Intelligence adoption; and more importantly, to take advantage of its great potential for sustainable development and social welfare. We start our exploration in the manufacturing environment of Ensenada, and Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.
