Abstract: Highlights•Dynamic Difficulty Adjustment (DDA) of rehabilitation games features conflicting objectives.•Pareto-based DDA (PDDA) of a competitive exergame is proposed in this paper.•The PDDA is capable of generating trade-off solutions between conflicting objectives.•Experimental results show that PDDA can improve user motivation and flow experience.
