TL;DR: Clarivate has extended and updated a partial Chinese translation to work with VIVO v1.11.x.
Abstract: Building upon community activity to improve VIVO's internationalization (i18n) capabilities, Clarivate has implemented a demo showcasing a beta release of a Chinese translation for VIVO. The demo also includes data from the Web of Science's Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD). The CSCD covers over 1,200 journals and 5.2 million records back to 1989 and was created in partnership with the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The new 1.11-compatible translation builds upon a partial translation submitted as a pull request for VIVO v1.6. The original pull request was unfortunately never tested or merged. In addition to restructuring the files, the new translation package includes additional strings introduced in subsequent versions of VIVO. Future work will extend the Chinese i18n to support fixes and enhancements added during the 2020 i18n sprints undertaken by the community. While the initial translation is available only for simplified Chinese characters, we have begun work on providing a version using traditional characters, as well. To preview the translation, visit www.clarivatevivo.com and select the Chinese (中文) language option.
