GPONet: A two-stream gated progressive optimization network for salient object detection

Abstract: Highlights•A two-stream network named GPONet is proposed to improve the performance of SOD.•Using detail labels as additional supervised branch is designed in a two-stream network.•A multi-level feature fusion network is explored to refine lower-level features.•A GFU model is designed to selectively pass effective features while avoiding redundancies.•A CGM model is proposed to effectively utilize complementary feature information of two branches.
