Abstract: Ontologies have become fundamental for knowledge representation in various fields, especially in the Life Sciences. These ontologies are usually published in formats such as OWL or OBO and stored in open repositories such as BioPortal. This article presents YOKO ONtO, an innovative interface enhancing the KNIT ontology construction tool. KNIT automates the exploration of BioPortal to facilitate the reuse of ontologies in the Life Sciences domain, using a set of keyword queries as input. YOKO ONtO extends KNIT’s capabilities by adding a visualization layer that generates a draft knowledge graph, highlighting the concepts and relationships extracted from existing ontologies. This visual representation makes it easier for users to understand and navigate the complex relationships within the retrieved ontological data, allowing the creation of new ontologies by reusing existing ones tailored to specific use cases.
