Beescape: Characterizing user needs for environmental decision support in beekeeping

Abstract: Highlights•Beekeepers are a key audience for agricultural decision support systems, and pollinators are under threat.•We need to know what decision support tools beekeepers need, so we evaluate a prototype pollinator decision support system.•Results from our user study highlight the challenges that need to be addressed with future decision support tools.•Effective tools need location-specific insights, and modeled habitat quality data must reflect on-the-ground experience.•We make recommendations regarding the future design and development of pollinator decision support tools.
