Abstract: Virtualization technologies enable flexible ways to configure computing environment according to the needs of particular applications. Combined with software defined networking technologies (SDN), operating system-level virtualization of computing resources can be used to model and tune the computing infrastructure to optimize application performance and optimally distribute virtualized physical resources between concurrent applications. We investigate capabilities provided by several modern tools (Docker, Mesos, Mininet) to model and build virtualized computational infrastructure, investigate configuration management in the integrated environment and evaluate performance of the infrastructure tuned to a particular test application.
