Formalizing Data Metamodel Semantics for Mapping Patterns Specification

Abstract: In this paper, we describe a method formulated as a conceptual pipeline for the semantic-aware translation process of data metamodels which is done via mapping of semantics. The method involves the construction of a semantic model representation consisting of concepts, semantic atoms, and semantic particles. The method is demonstrated on the semantics mapping and extraction process of two semantically distinct metamodels, namely the Association-Oriented Metamodel and Object-Role Modeling within Conceptual Layer of Metamodels concept system.
