Towards Developing an Annotation Scheme for Depressive Disorder Symptoms: A Preliminary Study using Twitter Data

Abstract: Major depressive disorder is one of the most burdensome and debilitating diseases in the United States. In this pilot study, we present a new annotation scheme representing depressive symptoms and psycho-social stressors associated with major depressive disorder and report annotator agreement when applying the scheme to Twitter data.
