Abstract: Highlights•New method for estimating the axonal diffusivities and radii at high b-value.•Variable projection and regularization are used to obtain estimates.•Only two single diffusion encoding PGSE shells are sufficient for the estimation.•Rotational invariance is retained through the use of zonal harmonic ratios.•Tested on data from 34 subjects of the MGH Adult Diffusion Human Connectome dataset.
