POSTER: Another Look at Boyar-Peralta's Algorithm

Abstract: A linear layer, which is basically a binary non-singular matrix, is an integral part of cipher construction. As a result, optimising it for device implementation is an important research direction. The Boyar-Peralta’s algorithm (Eprint’09) is one such common algorithm, which offers significant improvement compared to the straightforward implementation. This algorithm only returns implementation with XOR2 gates. In this work, we show an extension so that now XOR3 gates are also supported. In other words, our variant of the Boyar-Peralta’s algorithm now give an implementation using XOR2 and XOR3 in the logic library.
