FPAP: Fast Pre-distribution Authentication Protocol for V2I

Abstract: The authentication between the vehicle and the infrastructure is a vital issue for Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANET), which guarantees to verify the user’s identity and avoids the private information leakage. In this paper, a fast authentication protocol is proposed using the group communication and proactive authentication, in which the authentication is achieved by the symmetric encryption. Therefore, it is more efficient. Moreover, the trade-off between the anonymity and accountability is well.
