Abstract: A fusion block to extract illuminance features for counteracting extreme illumination variations was proposed in this paper. The block can be simply combined at the top of all kind of networks. Moreover, the lightweight block is suitable for mobile applications or embedded systems with limited computing resources. In addition, it proved that the block makes the network robust to the extreme illumination environment through a variety of fusion block experiments.
