Abstract: This paper revisits the annotation of reflexive clitics from a cross-linguistic computational perspective. Based on evidence from CoNLL-U treebanks, it examines how reflexive markers are represented in argumental and non-argumental uses, and how these annotation choices shape corpus retrieval, cross-linguistic comparison, and semantically oriented analysis, particularly in relation to UMR. The paper argues that more explicit and consistent annotation of reflexive constructions can better support syntax-to-semantics workflows and inform future treebank design.
