Abstract: With increasing automation technology in automobiles, sensors will play a more critical role than ever, as well as ensuring the cybersecurity of these sensors and automobiles overall. In particular, spoofing attacks are one of the security threats faced by automotive radar, in which an attacker injects signals to a radar receiver with the intention of introducing a false obstacle or causing incorrect distance/velocity estimation of a real obstacle, which may cause the victim vehicle to make unsafe decisions. Several countermeasures against this type of attack have been proposed in the literature. In this paper, we provide a compilation and discussion of these countermeasures. We aim to provide a cohesive overview of this research area to link readers to the specific works in the literature.
