Abstract: High-wind velocity Adaptive Optics (AO) systems depend on functional and identifiable predictive turbulence models. Existing system identification techniques for this specific class of systems is either unnecessarily general (including a large set of impractical solutions), or very specific (not easily scaled to arbitrary wind-velocities). The authors present the motivation and derivation of a system identification method which is solved directly in the parameter space of the predictive estimator, using recent phase estimates of the turbulence.
