Datafying diplomacy: How to enable the computational analysis and support of international negotiations

Abstract: Highlights•Computational diplomacy raises unique challenges of data collection and diffusion compared to other computational humanities and social sciences.•Three major challenges: necessity of responsiveness to handle crises, need to anticipate and respond to adversarial behavior, and need for secrecy in dealing with sensitive diplomatic information.•We propose an agenda to address these challenges and evaluate feasibility of these tasks.•The main concern should be the creation of FAIR repository of diplomacy-related data.
