TL;DR: Internal use of VIVO for data aggregation, recording and reporting in a research institution setting
Abstract: The ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research in Mannheim is one of the leading economic research institutes in Germany. The ZEW is currently in the process of implementing VIVO in cooperation with the German National Library of Science and Technology (TIB). After a brief introduction of the ZEW and its main research fields, this presentation will focus on the specifics of its VIVO concept, such as: - Internal use only (no public display of VIVO outside the institute) - Focus on reporting (e.g. for annual reports, evaluations) instead of public presentation - Connection of VIVO to the content management system (TYPO3) in order to show selected subsets of research activity (e.g. publications, projects) on the institute’s public webpage - Migration of legacy data from current data management tools into VIVO - Dynamic generation of VIVO user profiles / accounts based on regular exports from the Active Directory (AD) This presentation will provide an insight into how VIVO can be customized to fit the specific needs of an institution.
