Abstract: Normal mapping is one of the most important realistic rendering techniques that preserve geometric attribute values on the simplified model. There are many normal mapping methods that address static objects, but few about dynamic objects. In this work, we introduce a dynamic normal mapping technique that relies on an efficient area-preserving parameterization and registration method. This method is based on variational approach theory with a solid theoretical foundation. Our method provides an alternative solution to display dynamic models with fine visualization, and the experimental results suggest that this method can reduce the calculation time effectively while maintaining the geometric details of the dynamic model than a state-of-the-art algorithm.
