Securing Industrial Operational Technology Networks: A Cybersecurity Management Approach and Testbed Evaluation

Abstract: This paper comprehensively analyses cybersecurity management within operational technology networks in industrial facilities. A testbed based on the Purdue Enterprise Reference Architecture is proposed to assess the effectiveness of security measures. The model employs network segmentation, passive traffic monitoring, and security information and event management systems to detect and respond to cyber threats. Through simulations, the paper demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed solutions in preventing unauthorized Internet access and securing the OT network. The research provides valuable insights for securing critical infrastructure in the context of Industry 4.0, and suggests directions for future improvements and broader applications in real-world industrial environments.
