Abstract: Highlights•Both considering the spatial and temporal characteristics for EEG emotion analysis.•Channel attention revealed the contribution of each electrode placed on different brain regions to EEG emotion analysis.•An effective channel attention mechanism enhanced the contributory channels.•A temporal relative encoding mechanism encoded the temporal information of EEG signals more effectively.•The temporality self-attention transformer with temporal relative encoding mechanism cooperated with the channel attention.
