RESEARCH TO PRACTICE: DESIGNING LEARNING EXPERIENCES FOR TEACHERS AROUND READING THE WORD AND THE WORLD WITH DATA VISUALIZATIONS

Short Summary: In this proposal I discuss connections between theory and practice in supporting secondary mathematics teachers development of critical data literacy for reading data visualizations. This work involves creating a theoretical framework through multiple iterations of design research which will be presented along with the materials produced and examples of the analysis on teacher learning that has been conducted. This work spans multiple topics areas including Learning Materials, AI and Data Science Curricula and Implementation in School, and AI and Data Science Education for Social Good.
