TL;DR: Introduction to APIs, data dumps and other services ot the German Union Catalogue of Serials.
Abstract: The German Union Catalogue of Serials (Zeitschriftendatenbank, ZDB) [1] is one of the world's largest databases for the indexing of journals, newspapers, publication series and other periodical publications in all languages and forms. It contains 1,95 million titles and 17 millions holdings from 3.700 libraries. Participation in the ZDB is free and open to all libraries and institutions. The ZDB provides all of its data under an open CCO [2] license. The data is available as dumps (MARC21 [3], RDF [4], HDT [5]) or via on-line APIs like OAI-PMH [6], SRU [7] or OpenURL [8]. The ZDB is also used as back end for interlibrary loan (ILL), collaborative digitization and digital preservation projects. All bibliographic records for different editions of a journal, their supplements and all their predecessors and successors are linked together, providing a browsable graph of the history of a bibliographic item [9].
