Subjective and objective quality evaluation for industrial images

Abstract: Highlights•We establish industrial image datasets named ISID and IPID for assessing IIQE metrics.•A large subject IIQE experiment conducted in a controlled laboratory environment.•We present a novel IQE method called SIFS using channel capacity in wavelet domain.•Our SIFS shows a remarkable performance comparing with the up-to-date IQE methods.•Our ISID and IPID datasets are capable of evaluating most IQE metrics comprehensively.
