Open, Global and Local – Visualizing research with VIVO and other open tools

Abstract:

NORA - National Open Research Analytics – is a protype VIVO++ service being built as a part of the OPERA project https://deffopera.dk. NORA aims at providing analytical insights into the Danish landscape – using data from the Dimensions database complemented with national data and mappings.
NORA has carried out extensive tests of data coverage and quality with feedback to and improvements from Dimensions. NORA is experimenting with many types of visualizations and analytics – using a variety of tools. NORA will be released in time for the OPERA Conference in November 2020.
The presentation will give a sneak preview of the NORA prototype and review the challenges when:
• Combining global data (Dimensions) with local data and indicators
• Working with different content types like publications, clinical trials, dataset, patents
• Importing and preparing data for analytics and visualizations
• Combining a variety of tools like VIVO, VOSviewer, Tableau, Neo4J
