Abstract: Highlights•Time-space-angle scales seriously affect the rice LAI and LCC estimation.•Rice LAI estimation is suitable for using strong sunlight-based NDRE.•Rice LCC estimation is suitable for using mild sunlight-based NDRE.•MHAR-based data fusion patterns are conducive to rice LAI and LCC monitoring.•Proper inputs are critical to the accuracy of deep learning regression models.
