Circle reproduction with interpolatory curves at local maximal curvature points

Abstract: Highlights•We develop a rational quadratic, interpolatory curve reproducing circles.•The curves obtain local maxima of curvature only at the control points.•The curves are curvature continuous except at inflection points.•We provide an optimization method for efficiently converging to the desired curve.•We provide a method for the user to control the shape of the curve.
