Abstract: Infra-Red sensor requirements for high-resolution imaging satellites are increasing in future missions. IR sensors working in LWIR and MWIR regions have an inbuilt cryo-cooler as they operate at very low temperatures, generally < 100 K. The cooler requires precise temperature information for its better-controlled operation. Typically, IR sensors have a semiconductor temperature sensor. This paper presents details of low noise, high-performance ASIC front-end design to achieve high-temperature resolution for precise control of cryo-cooler. Designed temperature processing ASIC achieves \(\approx \)3 mK temperature resolution and consumes very low power around < 4 mW. The design has been carried out using 1.8 V SCL CMOS 180 nm technology.
