Abstract: The recent widespread use of high-performance terminal equipment has resulted in a rapid increase in the mobile data traffic. Therefore, public wireless local area networks (WLANs) are being used often to supplement the cellular networks. However, the effective throughput degrades significantly when many users connect to a single access point (AP). To overcome this problem, the GBR service should be provided in public WLANs. Therefore, we proposed AP virtualization method to provide the guaranteed bit rate (GBR) service and best effort (BE) service. In this paper, we propose a backhaul network model for virtualized access area. Moreover, we propose the dynamic bandwidth assignment to each service in a virtualized backhaul, for reducing the call-blocking probability of GBR users and improving the satisfaction degree of BE users. Finally, we evaluate the performance of the proposed model through simulation experiments and discuss its feasibility.
