Appendix for Wang et al. Image Reuse in Eighteenth-Century Book History: Large-Scale Data-Driven Study of Headpiece Ornament Variants

Abstract: This appendix contains manually annotated images of eighteenth-century headpiece ornaments extracted from the ECCO corpus. Each item is identified by an alphanumeric code, a descriptive title, and accompanying metadata (year range of use, number of occurrences, and number of books). The dataset supports the article “Image Reuse in Eighteenth-Century Book History: Large-Scale Data-Driven Study of Headpiece Ornament Variants” and provides the underlying evidence for the classification of 172 main classes and 496 subclasses of ornaments. It enables further research on ornament reuse, variant detection, and the networks of printers and publishers in the eighteenth century.
