Abstract: Highlights•We propose a method for high-quality vertex clustering using Student-t<math><mi is="true">t</mi></math> mixture model.•Less redundant clusters, which have no small isolated fragments, have been obtained.•High-quality clusters have been obtained which correspond to the underlying surfaces.
