Abstract: Highlights•Transcranial ultrasound stimulation (TUS) can improve memory performance.•The effect is seen with TUS applied at the peak-phase of theta-cycles in the hippocampus.•The improvement in memory performance after TUS is persistent.•The persistent effect may be through the enhancement of theta-gamma coupling and synaptic transmission.
