Abstract: Highlights•We developed a platform to count mosquito eggs from mobile phone pictures of ovitraps.•Our mosquito egg counting algorithm needs only one user-input parameter.•Validation with more than 750 pictures showed accuracy levels comparable to manual counting.•The solution implemented is open source and freely available as a web application.
