Abstract: Highlights•Dense Indoor LoRaWAN with 4 gateways and 390 sensors over 8 floors and 64 m.•More than 86 million transmissions and 139 million data points collected over two years.•Signal quality analysis requires mixed models instead of linear models, on par with modern neural networks.•A gateway every 30 m and 5 floors guarantees signal quality (30 × 5 rule).•Our Dense Indoor Sensor Network captures indicators of human presence in space.
