Abstract: The article discusses the task of training relay protection, namely, the task of building the boundaries of the areas of monitored and alternative modes. A method of solving it is proposed, which allows using an object simulation model (IMO) to iteratively identify boundary points of mode regions. The operation of the method is demonstrated by the example of constructing the resistance relay area. Limits of applicability of proposed method are considered, and convergence of iterative process underlying it is also shown. The optimal parameters of the method have been identified, allowing to use it most efficiently.
