Minimizing the sum of completion times on a single machine with health index and flexible maintenance operations

Abstract: Highlights•A single machine problem with job families and completion time minimization is considered.•The machine has a health index which decreases with production and increases with maintenance.•A model using positional variables is presented and a second model using the notion of master sequence.•Different valid inequalities are also proposed.•Computational experiments compare the performances of both models and show the impact of valid inequalities.
