Abstract: In this paper, we develop a new telepresence-based system for real-time remote learning. By combining low-latency 360 video/audio communication and Virtual Reality, the proposed system allow students feel like as if they are present in the classroom, regardless of their true locations. Especially, the system allows students to perform in-class activities such as note taking by providing a local view in addition to a remote 360-degree view. The proposed system is expected to improve user engagement and study efficiency.
